So yesterday we got in around 3:30 and started hooking up more computers. I brought over a VGA switch so we can have both our G4 and Minni on the same screen. The only thing we were missing was the DVI to VGA converter. Later we went to Walmart to get some juice and to look for the computer things we needed. Well they dont have things for computer so we were let down by that. When we were in the studio Cesar went through still color correcting the films and Omar went through and corrected the camera angles. While they did that I continued on music and playing around with new ideas and getting inspired. So we left the studio with noticeable work done. Today at home I am working on contracts for our upcoming clients. Then more research for the score that i need to get done soon. But hopefully we can get enough work done for people that we can get some income so I can get no orchestration software thats a good 500 bucks… so yea we gotta get working! So today I hope we can work out a recording agreement and make some money for the studio! – Justan
Day of frustration
So today Cesar came in about 4 and started color correcting. He got a lot done and he still is color correcting this whole scene with like so many frames! When I came around we rearranged the studio so I had my own station to compose some music. That took a while moving amps tables computers and rewiring speakers. We got that done and we thought it was great and we were very happy! But then tragedy struck. For some reason the screen didnt work on the G5. After trial and error we just switched screens and cables around to the computers (G5 and G4) and it worked great. Eventually I wanted to start composing so I tried switching the screen to the Mac Mini (cus we got one screen for the 2 computers) and it was having the problem that it was having with the G5. So I spent so much time trying to figure out whats wrong. So long that I was really getting angry and so close to loosing my temper (the temper started cus the computer was to slow to watch the new episode of the Dudesons). So a long while after trying to get it to work I just gave up. Defeated I am on the G4 (Photoshop computer) trying to update the websight. So in total Cesar got a lot of work done and we got a good lay out but one computer cant be used and a good day was lost that I could have used to get some good music going. oh well tomorrow I talk with a band about recording them and we go to the new local record shop so hopefully tomorrow will be better for me – Justan
Networking The Studio
I think it was safe to assume everyone was tired of only having 1 computer with internet access, albeit that one computer is the best/main studio workstation. So when I came over yesterday and saw 3 computers setup with only 1 accessing the internet, I decided that this had to end. Cesar showed me the Linksys router they had difficulties trying to set up. Well basically what I wanted to do since they have WiFi in the main house, was to use the router as a wireless repeater so all the computers can have internet without the need of expensive Mac compatible WiFi cards all over. Now It’s been about a year since I’ve done this Linksys hack and I knew it would be tedious, but I completely forgot how much of a pain in the *** it would be. Fortunately everything went smoothly and about 4 hours later we had a modded router, 3 computers with internet access, and the ability to easily add more to the network. Here’s a few things that went on during the long process:
- Cesar finished renderings of his Moon House of the Future
- Omar, John, and Sean all went to a bar a played a show and came back
- Justin cured my hiccups
-Salim “Tech”
Audio day
So today I really wanted to work so I came to the studio and laid down some audio tracks for our movie. I got a couple songs done and some quick little demos of what will be played on it. After a while Israel came by to keep me company and spent most the time talking. When Omar came home after school I showed everyone the songs I worked on. So we got a good start on the final score. So now its late and working is done. Tomorrow is another full day though… oh and it might take longer than a month to release PDG! ahh its crazy but Omar says we cant so i guess we gotta wait 2 months! But i guess that will give us time to market the film and get a big release party, yes its going to be an epic movie like that. So yea look up for behind the scenes and sneak peeks that will be coming out soon and all the promotions that PDG will be coming this month at least.- Justan
Moving forward
Today we started very early around 10 am in the studio. Cesar today edited PDG and I finally worked on the score, first rewriting a score to PDG 1 and getting some music done for PDG2. That took me pretty much all day while everyone left to school or dancing lessons…. after getting 2 songs done i was blank of ideas so John (our one and only local black friendly black man John from the SCV) and I started playing mario party. After a good hour Omar came back and we finished our game and i went back to work editing the songs. After a while we began talking about a new film that we wanna make. An epic saga of a man discovering the mysterious murder of his family. It will be full of epic fighting stunts and a deep complicated story that will have very artistic visual aids and story structure. So we got all the ideas out and created a whole movie within a short amount of time. Now a good 16 hours later we are about to go home and rest! But we got a lot done today. PDG 2 looks almost completed just subs music and small video editing. PDG1 is just getting finishing touches. A new film is in the works. And Some homework for the school kids was completed! Good work day and more to come, especially Friday… we got a lot scheduled for Friday! – Justan

So I arrived to the studio (garage/my house) today from a looooong day at the beach, to find all the homies kicking it, working hard or hardly working. The homies include Gatito, Justin, O.P. Y Andy (CAVEMAN/Cyrax/warmachine). I said Hello to everyones and proceeded inside the house to shower and pass out. When I awoke from my grand slumber muahah ehm, I munched, and then came back out to see what was the happening. I find Just Justan and Cesar chilling, now im on on this computer thing while justan eats cheddar jalapeno hot chetoos. damn I had a bag of hot cheetos my self today they were fucking bomb, ate them on the way home from driving with my soaky socks. I hate sand in my pants, I hate the beach.

In Her Shoes…
I woke up this morning and watched to chick flick ‘In Her Shoes’ with Cameron Diaz. Yes, its true. It was 3 hours long, but I seemed to enjoy it. Afterward I practiced with Omar and Andy — the members of Los Munecos. If you remember, Los Munecos are a spanish Rock band who are currently recording their demo here in the IFT Studio. Now we are here working on the PDG website — its so close to being completed. Our Webmaster Israel Mariscal (you might know him as Emilio). In time, we will have all the sites under control.

UPDATE: I’m a DRAGON!
I am now home from a very long day. Around 1:10 Cesar, Omar, Elia, and I went off to0 Frys in burbank to load up on a new external hard drive. On the way there it was actual good weather after these 110 degree days this week. It felt very much like beach weather. So we got there and got ourselves a 2 terabite eternal hard drive. Then we decided that we are going to get a nother mac and put in another 2 terabites so we will have a good amount of room for our products. We spent a long time there cus Frys is epic and we just had to enjoy being there. After all that we decided to try to hook up a modem up in the office so we can have all computers online other than just 1. So we got what we needed and headded out where we had lunch at Bobs Big Boy. Finaly at the studio we started to clean the whole studio moving things around and getting everything looking very nice. When that was done we started to dump everything we can into the hard drive. while waiting Cesar played Doom 24 and revieled the first secret level and some other secret stuff. I beat Elia at chess then I played Cesar. The game took forever but I did win. After that game we then played a card gamethat our friend Carlo taught us. Now im sitting in my room writing this. Oh we also moved the Poker filming time to another date, but we finally have enough room to dump our bear at dennys footage we have so that will finally be coming out soon! – Justan
Captains Log: Thursday – Friday 2010
Justan and I came to the studio today sometime around 5. We remade the PDG webpage — I thought it looked very amatuer and Justan concurred. Sometime later, Israel came by and took over the webpage design. He has a good eye for design — The website is coming around well, however, the site keeps crashing. Stoopid Wix. Anyways, as Israel was making the PDG site, I was playing DOOM 64. I’d been playing it for hours, nonstop. Eventually I got to the last boss — which is some crazy demon queen-thingy. After around 2 hours, I finally beat her. However, this was on the difficulty “I Own Doom!”, which is the second from hardest. My next goal is too beat Doom 64 on “Watch me Die” — the Hardest difficulty level. Oh and Israel and Justan need to finish the websites. Till next time.

UPDATE: School
Since this week half of the IFT Pro team is going back to school. With this means we have less time to work on projects but that doesnt mean we arent working. This week we are working to get new equipment for the studio. We are also filming friday for the POKER short, and just today we thought of a new short called CHINA. We are also trying to get this video up using HTML, but its not working out so well. It should be up very soon though.
We should still be doing these post every time we actually make it to the studio to say what we are doing. Updates will come slower but there will be new things on the site itself very soon so keep watching out for all the new stuff that should come out the rest of this month- Justan
